Love It, Hate It

I love doing #aboutme types of posts, especially since I have a lot of new readers! (Mostly, I just love talking about myself.) So, Faith, from Life with Mrs. G and the Artist tagged me in the Love It Hate It tag.

10 Things I Love

1) Fall! It's the absolute best season!
2) My Family. Need I say more?
3) Reading. I have plenty of book reviews on the blog.
4) Disney. There are lessons to be learned from Disney movies.
5) Camping. Although I haven't been camping for two years, I love doing it. I grew up doing it with my family and would love to continue that tradition.
6) All things Welsh. I'm a little obsessed.
7) History. Especially medieval and/or British history.
8) Pepsi. It's a bad addiction.
9) Strawberries and chocolate. Give them to me separate or together. It doesn't matter.
10) Legend of Zelda games. My two favorites are Twilight Princess and Windwaker.

10 Things I Hate

1) Conflict. I try to avoid it.
2) Slow drivers. I have a lead foot.
3) Ignorant and/or Arrogant people. Gah!
4) Folding Laundry. I don't mind sorting it and doing it, I just don't like folding it.
5) Doing dishes. I also don't like washing or putting away dishes.
6) Historical movies that are R. Because I can't watch them! I don't watch R rated movies, but I would love to fully see so many historical movies!
7) Politics. Just, no,
8) Getting stressed/frustrated. I don't deal with those emotions easily.
9) Smell of smoking. Whatever people smoke, I hate the smell. It gags me.
10) Allergies. Not only do I have seasonal allergies, but I am allergic to animal fur, even the ones that are supposed to be safe for allergies, I'm still allergic to. Which means, we can never have pets! And no, I'm not getting a hairless cat!

I'm supposed to tag 10 people, but I'm just opening it up to everyone!

Why I Love Autumn

There is something enchanting in the air during Autumn, something that warms the soul, while at the same time, chilling the skin. It is crisp and fresh. It is mystical and beautiful. There is something that awakens the inner-child and allows your old soul to breathe in and relax.

Autumn has always been my favorite season--it's and end and a beginning at the same time. Summer ends, but school begins. Relaxing, long, boring days end, but the Holidays begin.Warm weather dwindles as cold weather dares to show its face.

Here are some reason I love Autumn:
- The smell of Apple Spice Cider
- Pumpkins--carving them, roasting their seeds, chocolate chip pumpkin cookies, pumpkin pie
- the cool breezes
- scarves and boots
- Halloween and Thanksgiving
- the leaves
- the sunsets
- hot chocolate
- bonfires
- using the fireplace
- decorating the house numerous times
- the storms
- the colors: red, orange, yellow, brown
- soups and stews
- everything about October. I believe October, rather than September, is the true heart of Autumn.
- just the whole atmosphere--the very way the Earth looks

I had my students write a paragraph about why they love fall. (It was mainly for them to practice topic sentences, transitions, organization/flow, and elaborations, but I love fall and wanted to see why they did, too). Quotes from those will be on the blog next Wednesday as part of my Students Write the Darndest Things series.

Check out this lovely girl!
