Hey ya'll! Just checking in! Packing is going hard core over here right now since we are leaving tomorrow morning! So, I'm going to let you know what's coming up soon!
I love the blue, almost bio-luminescent light that Utah has in the winter afternoons.
Moving to Farmington
We are moving into my parents' basement, so we will be a little silent on social media this weekend as we pack up, move, unpack, organize, etc., and scrub, scrub, scrub all next week.
Provo City Center Temple Open House
Christmas of 2010, the Provo Tabernacle burned down. This was a historic building where the first settlers in Provo met each Sunday. It was where my college congregation met for stake (area) conferences. It is a beautiful landmark in Provo and many wedding, bridal, family pictures are taken there. But, the inside burned down. So, the LDS Church announced that it would be remodeled into an LDS Temple. Justin and I will be going to see the open house Tuesday morning. Temple open houses are open to the entire public (Mormon or not) before it is dedicated. I highly recommend seeing it while you can. But, more than being excited to see the beautiful temple, we are making it into a big overnight date. Monday night, we will say goodbye to Rhys, and have dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse (Maddie got us gift cards for Christmas), then spend the night in a hotel in Provo and have breakfast before going to the open house.
I love Bonnie's book club on her blog and she finally decided to make the jump and meet in real life, too. This month we will discuss These Is My Words.
Reading Roundup
This is a new linkup that Emilie from Burke Does are starting. The last Tuesday of every month, we will discuss the books we have read that month. You are more than welcome to linkup any book review from that month!
Welsh Wednesday
I am super excited for this new series that I am tag-teaming with Llinos from The Lilac Linnet! She actually randomly found my blog and introduced herself. Llinos is a native Welsh woman who speaks fluent Welsh. We connected instantly! So, the last Wednesday every month, we will be linking up with each other to talk about Wales!
The Long Awaited Newsletter I Promised
I swear, I will get to it! Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and getting ready to move has taken up all of my time. But, it is scheduled for Friday, February 5th. Remember all the amazing things promised (click here to learn more about what's included)! So sign up here!
Migrating to WordPress
I am taking the leap! I'm going to WordPress! And the amazing Madison from Grace and Vines Studio (and The Wetherills Say I Do) is going to help me! I'm so excited! Like I said, I have big plans for this blog this year and I'm trying to be intentional about them. So, I'm using my campaigning and virtual assisting money to do it! The new layout will launch on Monday, February 8th!
Lunch and WP Tutoring with Shannon
Because I don't really know a lot about WordPress, one of my blogger friends, turned real life friend is going to help me out. Shannon from Shanndelier and I are going to meet up for a delicious lunch at the end of the month, and she's going to tutor me on WordPress.
Virtual Assisting
By the way, I want to begin to create a portfolio for virtual assisting. Currently, I feel comfortable offering my services in social media buttons, pinnable images for recipes and quotes, free lance writing, and managing social media platforms. There will be a page on my new WordPress design for this. Soon, I hope to offer more. So, for now, if you would like any of these done, email me and I'll hook you up for free to build my portfolio.
Web and Graphic Designing
Once we are all settled in our new routine in my parents' house, I will be starting some online courses and programs to learn more about graphic design/typography and web design/coding. That way, I can have official certificates to back up my virtual assisting. I'm super excited about it and it will help me to Bloom Where I Am Planted online.
My Birthday
My birthday isn't until February 10th, but I'm super excited about it. I have no idea what I want for my birthday this year, but for some reason, I'm pretty excited.
What are you looking forward to?
