Today's prompt is our favorite season. Well, just like all other basic white girls, it's fall. However, I'm a little hipster in my love of fall. Before basic white girls or blogging was a thing, I loved fall. Ever since I was a little kid, fall was my favorite season.
Last year, I wrote a post about Why I Love Autumn. I don't really want to take away from that post much. But, to me, it's the beginning. Not spring. Yes, spring is a beginning--the beginning of life, life renewed, promises of forgiveness, the Resurrection, love blossoms, nature gives birth. But, to me, fall is the beginning. The beginning of change. The beginning of the holiday spirit. The beginning of freedom (although I always had to begin school as a student or a teacher). The beginning of becoming one with nature. The beginning of cuddles, of warmth, of peace, of just sitting with a blanket, feeling the cool breeze waft over you with smells of cider, pumpkin, fire, and more.
Although fall doesn't technically and officially begin until the end of September, I have always considered Labor Day to be the first day of Fall. And, yesterday really did feel like the first day of fall, not just physically, but mentally as well. I am so happy and excited to begin this new season as a new season in my life--as a SAHM. It'll be interesting to see how fall develops for me when I don't have to be at school.
What do you like about fall? Do you prefer to call it fall or autumn? Why?
