A day in the life of Justin

So, this is the first installment of the "Justin takes over the Blog: Friday Edition".  This is essentially where I post stuff without regard to whether or not people care about what I say.  So be prepared for mindless rants about video games, statistics, March Madness, and Pizza....

But seriously though, I hope you enjoy it.

Today, I'll be going over a typical day for me, complete with labeled time tables and sarcasm.

5:30 -  Alarm goes off.  I hit snooze. A lot.
6:20 - I wake up finally.  Eat some sort of breakfast, check my email, read my morning webcomics and prepare for work.
6:50 - Leave for work.  Pray the car isn't overheated/out of gas/dead.  Listen to sports radio.  Get way too over-hyped on the BYU/Jazz game coming up.  During commercials, listen to the rock stations.
7:00 - Arrive at work.  Chill in the car while awesome song finishes. Try to remember to turn down volume so music doesn't blast at me when I get back in my car.

Now here comes my work rant.  First and foremost, I love my job, just some days are better than others.  I work in data automation, with an emphasis in ETL.  ETL stands for Extract Transform and Load.  Basically, using programming and math magic, I take data in one format and turn it into another format that our system uses.  (This is where I put some random things in here to see if my lovely wife is actually reading my post or not. Old spice odor blocking body wash.)  I usually have lunch with my coworkers where our discussions range from the dangers of including too many global variables in your code to who would win in a fight: Iron Man or Batman? (It's Batman) I could go on and on about what I do, but I don't want to lose my wife any followers.

3:00 - Leave work.  Get blasted by the volume because I didn't turn it down.  Pray my car works.
3:15 - Pick up my son from the babysitter's.  Rhys doesn't like sports radio, so I always have to change the station to Top 40, because he likes to sing along.
3:30 - Come home, feed the boy/put him down for a nap/chase him around the room until Mama comes home.
4:00 - Mama comes home.

Now, once home, my time is usually spent playing with my son, reading sports articles, and getting way too excited about upcoming games, potentially make dinner.

6:30 - Bath time for Rhys,  Put the boy down to bed.

Now, the evenings are usually spent playing games with my wife, making a dessert, watching our 4 staple TV shows (Friends, HIMYM, Family Feud, and Big Bang Theory), and talking about our day.

10:30 - Bedtime

That's a typical day for me.  Add in various chores, random trips to Walmart, some Fire Emblem, and that life for me in a nutshell.

Because it is March, there are special things I do during the month.
1.) I get  Shamrock Shake from McDonald's.
2.) Pi Day.  There is always Pie on Pi day.  As a math person I consider March 14th a holiday. I also celebrate double pi day.  (3.14 X 2 = 6.28 ie June 28th).  On double pi day, you get....yup....2 pies.
3.) The Ides of March.  Caesar is one of my favorite Shakespeare plays and I make it a point to go around and tell people to "Beware" of things on that day.
4.) Badger Day.  Its March 16th.  I watch the Badger Badger Youtube video numerous times that day.   I invented this holiday in 9th grade.  For those who have never seen the Badger Badger YouTube video, I invite you to watch it this upcoming March 16th,

Boring? Not at all.  People sometimes ask me what I would do if I ruled the world.  I tell them I already do, and this is exactly how I like it.

Well....there could always be more dragon-fighting pirates, pizza, and root beer....
