I think that just about covers everything we'd need.
If you have any suggestions as to what else we need, let me know!

You may want some socks to put on his hands or an emery board to take care of sharp/long nails since his nails are still soft at this point and clippers/scissors are not recommended. Maybe a lightweight hat to help maintain temperature. Hospital will provide you with diapers and any medical supplies you might need so leave that stuff home. Don't forget a camera!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea!
ReplyDeleteCHAP STICK!!!! I can't tell you how many times I applied, and re-applied chap stick after delivery!
ReplyDeleteWe also had our delivery staff plug in our iPod so we could listen to some of our favorite songs while in labor/delivery.
ReplyDeleteI never would have thought about chapstick!
ReplyDeleteI had to dig up my old hospital bag post to compare, and there isn't much difference. Maybe a nursing pillow? To be honest I never used them in the hospital, but I know a lot of people do. I always bring it, I never use it :) And these were the best nursing bras ever (until you want to actual go out in public then you'll probably need a bit more support) http://www.target.com/p/gilligan-o-malley-women-s-2-pack-nursing-sleep-bra/-/A-14055275#prodSlot=medium_1_17&term=gilligan+%26+o%27malley
ReplyDeleteI agree with the comments… CHAPSTICK is a must. And movies too just in case you have to wait. Slippers were nice as well. Oh and a little tip… wear the nursing bra during delivery so then you don't have to change to nurse right afterwards. The hospital gives you tons of pads, mesh underwear, diapers, hygiene kit for baby, and wipes. I wish I wouldn't have brought those things. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteMy mom actually had me get a regular nursing bra, then a "night" nursing bra...it's kinda of like the ones you linked to
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advice. But, I like to err on the safe side. The hospital I'm delivering at is a bit smaller, so I don't know what all they'll have.
ReplyDeleteGet a chapstick! If they won't let you drink anything during delivery, it really helps your lips not feel so dry and awful! It's good to for after because the hospital air is so dry and it really dries out your skin!
ReplyDeleteI was told I'd be allowed a liquid diet (jell-o, water, apple juice, broth, flavored ice), but my lips get chapped very easily!
ReplyDeleteI delivered at Orem Community which was quite small (but like a dream… I want to move back to Utah for each pregnancy to have all my future babies there haha!) but that's wise… better to be safe than sorry!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are prepared. So exciting Tayler! I didn't bring my bag (but I had one packed, don't ask, lol) and there were only two things I wish I had: a camera and deodorant! I was able to take pictures with my phone but I wished I had my nice camera, one thing I found helpful, if you're planning on nursing, a very roomy night shirt that opened from the front. My Mom brought it for me and it's something I wouldn't have thought of. And, er, nipple cream : )
ReplyDeleteDefinitely got the cream....my OB gave me a prescription a few weeks ago without me asking. He just said red heads are typically more sensitive and thus he's having me get this cream. I said, "Ok."
