I see this small, white building every morning in the dark at 6:00 AM as I head off to work. The majority of the building is a small, old-school barber shop. But, on the side, there is something new--very new.
One morning last week, I saw a KSL (the local news group) truck there. It looked like they were getting prepped to interview as soon as it opened.
While, Friday night, I wanted to go buy some half-off Halloween candy. So, Justin and I go to Smiths--they were still $6 or higher, or crappy candy...not fair. So, we went to Honk's...disappointing as well. Justin now had it in his head that he wanted chocolate, too, although I was giving up and just wanted to be at home for the evening. We headed home, passing this white building.
As a spur of the moment thing, I asked if we could park and look at what this new thing was on the side of the old barber shop. I didn't expect it to be open. But, it was. And it was called Sodalicious.
They serve sodas (including caffeine--they said their mission was to bring caffeine into Provo) and you can put flavors in those sodas.
They also serve hot chocolate with flavors, and even Hot Lava (a melted Italian chocolate drink).
The prices were very decent as well.
There were two lovely ladies waiting at the window to help us. They told us they had just opened within the past two weeks. We were oggling at the menu and they mentioned some of their favorites. They explained what Hot Lava was and gave us a sample. They were very bubbly and excited to be working--it was almost infectious.
I decided on a small (8 oz) Hot Lava with white chocolate flavoring. 8 ounces was plenty! It was super thick and rich! The Hot Lava was basically like drinking melted Lindor chocolate! I was so glad I got white chocolate. Next time, I think I want to try the hazelnut flavoring. Then, maybe one day I'll get real crazy and do both white chocolate and hazelnut. I like Hot Lava a whole heck a lot better than hot chocolate.
Justin was ecstatic to find out they had peppermint bark flavoring for their Hot Lava, so that's what he got. Here is what he has to say about it:
Very tasty. I honestly would have preferred more, but portion sizes have always been my complaint with food establishments. Apparently I eat too much or something. Eager to try out the 20+ flavors added to 20+ different sodas and other beverages. I'm looking to try a Mango-Raspberry-Blackberry Lemonade next time.

Justin and I both agree the service was great, the atmosphere was great! It's only 4 blocks away, so we have a feeling this is going to be our new weakness (just like the 1/2 off milkshakes from Sonic were during the summer). Next time, we are going to try their flavored lemonades (but I think I will still end up getting a Hot Lava).

I remember him commenting about portion sizes before! :P I'm another one who always has to let my husband finish my meals at restaurants. But hey, the guys are bigger than us, it makes sense they need more food! Sounds pretty tasty! When we were on our honeymoon, we stayed at a bed and breakfast a few blocks from a Sonics--I think we went there every single day at happy hour! :P
ReplyDeleteHow cool. We don't have one around here but I am sure my kids would love that if we did!!
