Oh hey there! I am so busy! And tired! All the time!
Stressed? Surprisingly, very minimally!
Loving my job? Oh heck yes!
So, I apologize for my lack of presence on social media. During the summer, I had a part-time job at Subway and I was able to spend the rest of the day catering to my blog and my readers. I was able to grow my blog my almost doubling my readership! (Still a very low number, but considering that I had 30ish readers in May and now have 57 is quite impressive to littl' ol' me).
In order to help you understand I am booked, I want to share with you what a typical day looks like for me.
Before I do, I want to share with you all my requirements in teaching at my Charter School.
We focus on high-achieving, rigorous classical education.
In Literature:
- Latin Root Vocabulary
- Novels/short stories/poems as well as analysis
- writing prompts and essays on what we read
- vocab for everything we read (in addition to Latin Root vocab)
- informational texts
In Language Arts:
- Grammar (parts of speech, mechanics, diagramming sentences)
- Writing (especially argumentative and expository)
- Critical Thinking
Remember, these are Jr. High students! It's a lot to expect of them!

Tuesday, Thursday
5:00 AM -- Wake up, get ready, make lunch for me and Justin, check maybe 10 minutes worth of blogs, share mine on social media
6:30 AM -- Leave home to head to work
7:30 AM -- Arrive at Navigator Pointe Academy

12:15 PM -- Class resumes
3:00 PM -- School ends. Copies and grading and lesson planning!
3:30 PM -- Head home
4:45 PM -- About 15 min of checking blogs. Make dinner and bring it to Justin at work (he works 3-8:30 these days)
5:45 PM -- Eat dinner with Justin at his work ! How lucky are we that his bosses let me do that!
6:30 PM -- Lesson plan or finish grading
8:30 PM -- Pick Justin up from work. Read scriptures. Watch an episode of one of our shows.
10:00 PM -- Go to Bed.
So as you can see, I don't have a lot of down time. Most days I work on my lesson planning up until I go to sleep. But, that's what happens when you have 6 different lesson plans to prepare everyday.
It's busy, but I love it!
Weekends I spend lesson planning a lot, but I try to enjoy it and relax and definitely catch up on blogs and social media!
YIKES!

Woah, lady, you are BUSY! The chocolate, Pepsi, and sweats sound like the perfect way to end such hectic days!
ReplyDeleteIt truly is. I'm trying not to get addicted to the Pepsi, but I know so many commuting teachers that drink Diet Coke (yuck) as a way to help them each day....I'm kinda falling into the pressure of it
DeleteThat's awesome that you're enjoying your job, even though it does take up a LOT of time!
