My Twin Sister

No, I don't really have a twin sister. But this girl is just about as close as it gets. I want to introduce you to my best friend Tashya Heim. She is the writer of the blog: Those Weird Heims. Definitely check it out!

We captured some boys and dressed up to go to the Beauty and the Beast preference dance at BYU. It was the best night ever: meeting our hero Belle, seeing Beast's encased rose, dancing on a balcony. Oh bliss.
Tashya and I met in our apartment complex Fall of 2010. We both had crushes on boys in the same apartment and we were typically the only dose of estrogen those boys would get, so we became very close.

Tashya is a graduated English major who loves classical novels. We'd spend long stretches talking about Pride and Prejudice, or the Gothic Era, or any other random English stuff. We'd be technical, we'd be comical.

Tashya also believed (like me) she is a Disney princess in real life. She even had a princess like dress for her wedding! (Sorry, Tashya, I stole this picture from you facebook!)
See what a princess she is?
We knew all the songs to all the movies. One Sunday, at the apartment of boys, we even made them watch Thumbelina all the way through! It was awesome!

We told each other secrets, we told each other our hopes and dreams. We didn't mind when one or the other rambled on. When I got engaged, I introduced Justin to her and Tashya and her husband, Andy. Andy and Justin hit it off! We had plenty of dinners together and the boys would talk about math, engineering, boring, complicated stuff. That way, Tashya and I could enjoy our company and revel in our passions.

Then, in the Spring of 2012, she and Andy graduated and sadly, the worst day of my life happened. They moved. Andy got an awesome job in Texas and Tashya, being all grown-up had to move to live her grown-up job. We still talk all the time and skype a lot! Always happily, excitedly freaking out so much our husband have to hold on to us to keep us from exploding.

Well, because of my post yesterday and the stress I'd been under, I needed someone to cheer me up. Of course Tashya, without being asked, jumped at the opportunity. She wrote me an excitable, cheer-able comment, sent me pages of classroom management help, and even wrote a post for me!
An example from her post. I'm on the left and Tashya is on the right.
I want to invite you Tashya's blog of awesomness: Those Weird Heims.
Tashya leads an adventurous life, never a dull moment for her.
She draws pictorials to let us relive her life.
If anyone has mastered the talent of being eloquent and silly at the same time and having it work, it's Tashya.

Hop on over to her blog and see why she is my best friend!

  1. I think we watched Thumbelina on either a Thursday or a Saturday. I think part of the triumph was in getting them away from homework for that long. :) But yes, good times, good times!

    1. I agree. It just gets saddening when they live so far away from you. But, I think I'm gonna see her near the end of the school year for a wedding she's coming up to.
