Happy Engageiversary

One year ago today my best friend asked me to be his wife and I said yes.

It was the first warm Friday all year, with clear blue skies, and no damp grass. We had been planning to go on a picnic all week. If you would like to read more about the proposal story, check this out.

I really wasn't expecting it. Well, I mean, we knew we were getting married, but we had talked about me meeting his family first...and not for another 2 months. But it happened. And it was one of the best days of my life, realizing that my best friend and I would spend the rest of our lives together.

We have been on so many adventures since then:
1) A failed attempt to teach me how to fox trot (Justin rocks at social dances, and club dancing, just saying, I have two left feet)

2) Going to Georgia to meet Justin's parents and sister and exploring the last proud memorial of the Confederate's.

3) Taking Justin to Hogle Zoo for his birthday to see a bird show and then his favorite restaurant (Winger's) for dinner.

4) Renting an apartment, planning and freaking out over a wedding, getting married! =)

As well as plenty of other adventures, movies, trips, Mario Party parties, lazy days, etc.

What I love most about our relationship is how similar we are.
We both love anime, food (strawberries and pizza), volleyball, fantasy and sci-fi, the same kind of music, the same kind of movies, our love for the East...we are so similar. Which is why we were such good friends before we started dating.

We also complete each other: he is more extroverted than I am. He is stoic whereas I worry or get to impassioned. He is logical and I am most definitely not. I'm the responsible one, he's not =)

Today, was a busy day: Justin had to work, study, and play basketball with other Stats majors to kick Math department's butt (97-36)!
I had to go to a Relief Society brunch, clean, grade (didn't happen), work on my TWS (didn't happen), nap, and prepare for a special surprise.

I set up a picnic and Star Dust, just the way we had it when he proposed a year ago, only we actually watched it on a TV and it was snowing, so we picnic'ed outside. It was great, very relaxing, nostalgic, and romantic.

I love you Justin!
