On Wednesday, there was a thunderstorm...then it turned to pouring, drenching rain...then it turned to hailing.
Then it rained even harder...and more, and more.
It reminded me of Virginia: the skies turning grey, illuminating and making the grass stand out. Sitting on the porch with a good book; listening to the large, heavy raindrops pound on the old rooftop; our deep ditches filling up and turning into streams and our backyard into a pond, only to disappear within hours.
Usually Utah rain is cold and uninviting. Virginia rain is warm and begging us to play in it.
This rain knew I missed Virginia dearly, so it decided to imitate it.
Even to the point of flashflooding.
It got as deep as our knees!!!
So, I decided to explore more than just our intersection. I went to the stairs at the bottom of campus and there were a ton of college kids playing. I didn't know any of them, but I decided to join them. The stairs were by a busy road, so there were still a ton of cars driving by, only a few of them slowing down--to intentionally splash us. On the one hand, we cheered wanting more muddy water splashed onto our clothes, hair, faces. On the other hand, we were wishing they didn't hydroplane.
