So, I like cooking. But only recently, have I been expanding my talent.
Before college, I hardly cooked--maybe helping my mom with whatever she instructed me.
Freshman year, half the year I ate at a freshman all-you-can-eat center as part of a meal plan. The other half, I got rid of the meal plan and started buying groceries from a grocery-store on campus. My dinners consisted on instant mashed potatoes, frozen veggies, and chicken nuggets. Maybe expanding into mac and cheese or taquitos.
Sophomore year, I expanded a bit by adding real chicken into my diet. But not much more...just getting rid of tv dinners.
Junior year, I moved into a house and started experimenting with dinners--cooking real dinners. And I discovered the AMAZINGNESS of zucchini! I love zucchini!
Then, I realized I bought a cook book from IKEA during my freshman year that had 365 recipies in it.
Sunday night, I decided to try one of them:
Tomato and Mozzarella Gratin
This was very easy to make and I (and my roomie) thought it was delicious!
Ingredients
lasagna noodles
vine tomatoes
mozarella
basil and maybe some garlic salt
Steps
1) break the lasagna into shards and boil it
2) cut the tomatos into slices and cut those slices in half
3) layer lasagna shards, tomato slices, and cheese into a dish
4) when the top get a little brown, take it out and sprinkle a LOT of basil and some garlic salt on it
5) ENJOY!
